First Congo Online Guidelines

First Congregational United Church of Christ, Appleton, Wisconsin, is a community of faith bound together in covenant relationship with God, one another, and the wider church. As part of this covenant relationship, we agree that all are God’s children, and we affirm each person’s identity, gifts, and contributions. In the spirit of this covenant, we ask those using this website to agree to the following:

• I will express myself with civility, courtesy, and respect for every member of the First Congo Appleton online community, especially toward those with whom I disagree—even if I feel disrespected by them. (Romans 12:17-21)
• I will express my disagreements with other community members’ ideas without insulting, mocking, or slandering them personally. (Matthew 5:22)
• I will not exaggerate others’ beliefs nor make unfounded prejudicial assumptions based on labels, categories, or stereotypes. I will always extend the benefit of the doubt. (Ephesians 4:29)
• I understand that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the site owners, administrators, and moderators (except for posts by those individuals) who thereby will not be held liable for the content of any message.
